KOI FISH TATTOO

Butterflies have a very rich historical significance for people throughout time. In Greece, for instance, the common belief is that a human soul is born each time a butterfly pops out from its cocoon. The Irish, on the other hand, believe that butterflies stand for the dead souls waiting to meet their maker. The Japanese say that one butterfly represents a young woman while two butterflies symbolize marital bliss. A lot of the traditional kimonos have butterflies on them. The Native American tribes have their beliefs about butterflies as well. According to the Blackfoot tribe our dreams are delivered by butterflies, although the Zuni tribe says they represent the beginning of summer.
